You don't have to be in the IMBC to submit topics! We'll take them from anyone as long as they're mildly exoteric, not obscene, and deep/broad enough to merit a minimum 60-word response/reflection.

IMBCers are not required to write about the Topic of the Day. But it can get them started when they can't think of anything to write about. And, hopefully, it'll help create some kind of connection between otherwise isolated blogs. If a participant devotes at least 60 words of their post to the TotD, they get an extra 25 CV points.
